Trustees

Philip Raw (FRICS, FBEng)

Philip Raw (FRICS, FBEng) Chair of Trustees

Philip is a Chartered Surveyor, with strong executive and non-executive experience in the profit, not for profit and charitable sectors within Care Quality Commission, Social Housing Regulator and Charities Commission regulatory framework.

Philip’s experience in his day to day roles in the private sector bridge national, local, public and private housing work including development and legal court work.

Philip has over 20 years of experience as a Housing Association chair, non-executive director and 8 years as a trustee Director for a homeless charity during a period of increasing demands on Governance regulatory control and financial challenges.

He’s an experienced Chairman, who has worked in partnership with CEOs and Executive teams to deliver transformational change and performance improvement.

He has been in Christian church leadership for over 40 years. His Christian values and convictions drive his desire to see people fulfil their potential.

He is married with two grown up daughters and four grandchildren. He enjoys walking in the Dales.

Dr Ian Clarke

Dr Ian Clarke Trustee

Ian is a trainee Lay minister in the Church of England, a husband, a father to two sons (and two dogs). Ian’s interests are music, film, theatre and travel, as well as a love for God and longing for peace and justice Ian started work as a research technician for Imperial College, London, working on climate change research, earning his PhD along the way. He moved into university lecturing, in applied ecology at Staffordshire University. After his wife was headhunted for a Job in London they relocated to Chandlers Ford and Ian took up a post as applied researcher in horticulture. After a decision by an office in Whitehall the horticultural site closed down, and Ian retrained to be a secondary school science teacher. He now works in a large secondary school as assistant Headteacher in a deprived area in Hampshire.

Christine Raw

Christine Raw Trustee

Christine trained to be a nurse in London before deciding to be a District Nurse once she had qualified. She worked as a District Nurse and then Practice Nurse until she retired.

Christine lives in Southampton with her husband Philip, our very own Chair of Trustees. Together they have two daughters and four grandchildren. Christine enjoys meeting people, listening to their stories and helping where she can. She volunteered at The Girls’ Brigade at Eastleigh Baptist Church for 12 years, which gave her a strong connection with the town.

Christine enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, singing in a choir , swimming , Pilates, cooking and walking in the Yorkshire Dales. Christine is a member of Thrive Church where she plays the keyboard.

Mike Evans

Mike Evans Trustee

Mike was a police officer until retiring in 2000. He lives in Eastleigh and attends Junction Church where he is a trustee. He is a also a Befriender for CAP (Christians Against Poverty).

Becky Shipley

Becky Shipley Trustee

Becky works for a national Arthritis Charity as the Programme and Partnership Manager for South England where she’s been for 8 years. Previously Becky has worked for several different charities supporting children, young people and those in crisis. Becky has a real heart for helping and supporting people.

She lives with her husband near Bishops Waltham and attends Thrive Church. Her interests are baking, singing, spending time with friends and going for walks.

Jeremy Sisley

Jeremy Sisley Treasurer

For the past eight years Jeremy has been Operations Manager for a national charity supporting women engaged in survival sex. Prior to that he worked for many years in IT within local government, starting as a developer and then project manager and team leader. Much of his IT experience has been around the development and support of financial accounting systems.

He is a qualified bookkeeper with strong experience in charity accounting, and has been treasurer for three local charities over the last twenty years.

Jeremy has lived in Eastleigh for around 40 years, and is part of the leadership team for Thrive Church. He is married with three adult children, a grandson, and a black Labrador!

Mark Cheshire Founder and Company Secretary

Mark, together with his wife Lauren, started with the initial vision for Fledge in 2009. Since that time, Mark has played a central role in shaping what Fledge looks like as an organisation and building the foundation that secured charity status.

After several years as a Trustee, Mark now serves as our Company Secretary.

Nerissa Dean

Nerissa Dean Chief Executive Officer

Nerissa came on board as the Project Manager for Fledge in June 2015 and has been instrumental in making the Fledge vision a reality including the set up and development of the Fledge House. She has overall responsibility for the operational running of the charity, turning her hand to everything from funding to liaising with Eastleigh Borough Council to removing rogue insects from behind the kitchen appliances! Nerissa was appointed CEO of Fledge in November 2021.

Natasha Baker

Natasha Baker Development, Health and Wellbeing Officer

Natasha joined Fledge in May 2016, shortly before the first residents moved into the first Fledge House. Natasha is responsible for developing the support provision and working with the residents to meet their support needs. She organises group sessions for the residents as well as supporting them 1 to 1 including occasional trips to the ice cream parlour!

Ali Williams

Ali Williams Service Delivery Manager

Ali joined the Fledge team in Jan 2017. She works alongside Natasha to provide support and mentoring for the residents. Ali works part time for Fledge and part time as the assistant youth leader at KCC, in Hedge End. Away from work Ali loves spending time with her family & friends, socialising and cooking.

Philip Morgan

Philip Morgan Volunteer Coordinator

Phil joined Fledge in 2018 and has a wealth of experience in supporting people from previous job roles, including working with ex-offenders. Phil works full time for Fledge as a support worker which involves supporting residents 1:1, running one of the weekly drop-ins and managing our largest house. Outside of work Phil loves cycling and all things Cargo Bike, and has also recently taken up running.

Emma Fenner

Emma Fenner Lead Support Worker

Emma joined Fledge in August 2019 as we expanded from two to four houses. Emma works 1:1 with residents and manages one of the houses. Before working at Fledge Emma helped to support and run a youth group which involved putting on productions, residential trips and work within the community. Away from work Emma likes to spend time with her family and friends, and also is a big rugby fan!
