Mentoring

Could you spare an hour to mentor a young person?

At Fledge, our mentoring programme connects young people with supportive volunteers who can offer encouragement, conversation, and a positive presence during an important stage of their lives.

Fledge Mentoring

Many of the young people we work with are preparing to live independently or have recently moved on from supported accommodation. Having a mentor gives them someone outside of staff and services who can listen, share experiences, and help them build confidence as they take their next steps.

Mentoring is simple but meaningful. It might involve meeting for a coffee, going for a walk, playing a game, or just having a chat about how things are going. Mentors are not there to replace professional support, but to be a consistent, encouraging voice and a trusted person young people can spend time with.

We ask mentors to commit around an hour or so a week. If you enjoy meeting new people, having a chat over coffee, and want to make a genuine difference in the life of a young person in Eastleigh, mentoring with Fledge can be a really rewarding experience.
