It's not too late to challenge yourself in 2026

Has your new years resolution not quite worked out? Don’t worry, there’s still time to sign up for a challenge in 2026 and raise money for Fledge at the same time. Here are some ideas for keen runners looking for a challenge to work towards in Hampshire.

Eastleigh 10K – Sunday 22nd March 2026 – Eastleigh 10K is organised by Eastleigh Running Club and is the largest 10k in the South, welcoming around 2900 runners. The race takes place on 22nd March 2026 and is a perfect challenge for runners of all abilities.

New Forest Marathon 13th September 2026 – Established in 1981, the New Forest Marathon continues to grow. The marathon boasts a multi terrain course with beautiful scenery, including forest enclosures, an old railway line and of course New Forest Ponies. The route is mostly flat.

Winchester Half Marathon 20th September 2026 – Another scenic but more challenging race is the Winchester Half Marathon. The route starts and finishes in central Winchester, and features landmarks such as St Catherine’s Hill, Winchester Cathedral and King Alfred the Great.

Southampton Marathon 3rd May 2026 – In May 2026, 10,000 runners will take on either the Marathon, half marathon, 10K or 5K around Southampton. The Southampton Marathon is one of the South Coast’s largest running events and boasts an impressive route, passing through St Mary’s Stadium and across Itchen Bridge.
