Fledge Business Manager becomes Chief Executive

Trustees of Fledge Youth Support are delighted to announce that Fledge’s Business Operations Manager, Nerissa Dean is now the Charity’s first Chief Executive. Commenting on the move, Chair of Trustees, Phil Watts, said “Nerissa has been our senior staff member since almost the start of Fledge. She joined the Charity as our first paid staff member in 2015, serving as Project Manager to research the need for accommodation among young adults in Eastleigh, and to identify potential solutions which the then ‘infant’ charity might develop, When we opened our first house in 2016 and recruited more staff, Nerissa became our Business Operations Manager. Fledge has grown significantly in the five years since then. Now, with a team of eight staff and responsibility for caring for up to 26 young adults in five different residential properties, Nerissa’s role has also grown enormously.
As Trustees, we wish to formally recognise her sustained passion and concern for the welfare of our service users, her example and commitment as leader and manager of our staff team, and her dedication to promoting Fledge’s mission and aims, by confirming her as our first Chief Executive. As we look to the future, Nerissa will be at the heart of leading the continued growth and development of our exciting plans to support even more, otherwise homeless, and vulnerable young adults in the local area.”
