Newsletter #1

March 2016

Welcome to our first official newsletter!

Fledge is on an exciting journey and wanted to update everyone on our progress. As many of you are aware Fledge was set up to provide supported lodgings, hospitality and one-to-one support for young people. As we have promoted Fledge an amazing opportunity has arisen and we have been kindly gifted a house that we can use to provide accommodation for young people across the Eastleigh. The house is currently being renovated and will be ready for us to use soon. We are looking to start housing young people shortly and our first supported lodgings placement will be housed in March. We have also offered 7 young people, who had housing needs, one-to-one support over the past 6 months.
House Launch
Fledge is having a celebration event on Friday 15th April 5-7pm and a prayer meeting on Tuesday 5th April (evening). Please put the dates in your diary, more information to follow shortly.
We are launching a Crowdfunding campaign. Fledge needs to raise £6000 to help get the house set up, to employ a support worker and to ensure we can be sustainable for the first couple of months. This campaign will go 'live' on Thusday. Please share and help us hit our target so we can start housing young people.

Run for Fledge
Run the Southampton ABP Half Marathon or 10km for us on Sunday 24th March 2016. We have secured 5 places in the half marathon and 5 in the 10km race. Registration is free and all we ask is that you raise a minimum of £100 for Fledge. Email nerissa@fledge.org.uk to sign up or for more information.
Ways you can support Fledge:

Regular Giving

Fledge needs around £85,000 a year to run. The first few years, until we establish a good track record, are the hardest to raise.

40 people giving £25 a month would ensure the future of our Project Manager for 6 months.

6 churches donating £1,000 would cover the training and support of our mentors for a year

£11 provides one night's accomodation
