Concert brings early Christmas present for Fledge

Fledge Youth Support recently received a super early Christmas present, courtesy of the wonderful team at West End Singers. The brilliant four-part harmony choir based in Hampshire held their Annual Christmas Concert on 10th December 2022, at West End Parish Centre, where their audience was invited to make a retiring collection towards Fledge, who have been the Choir’s Charity of the Year. Those attending enjoyed a variety of choral pieces and well-loved songs and joined with the choir in a number of seasonal carols, all of which ably demonstrated the musical diversity of this talented choir. After speaking about the work of Fledge during the Interval, Chair of Trustees, Phil Watts, said “It has been a huge delight to be able to share in the Christmas spirit with this wonderful and generous choir. All of us at Fledge have been touched by the fact that West End Singers chose us as their Charity of the Year, and have been moved by the generosity of the audience at the Concert, particularly in these difficult times financially. I can assure everyone – whether singers or donors – that the funds raised will be put to really good use supporting homeless and vulnerable young adults in the Borough of Eastleigh. We would like to wish the Choir and all their supporters a wonderful 2023.” For anyone who would like to sing in this friendly choir, they can visit West End Singers’ webpage: https://westendsingers.co.uk/, and can contact them at: membershipsecretary@westendsingers.co.uk.
