Fledge has just acquired the keys to an additional house, which will add another five accommodation units to Fledge’s growing portfolio. The property is configured as five individual flats, allowing residents housed there to begin the journey to independent living.
Fledge Operations Manager, Nerissa Dean, explained: ‘We have been considering for some time how best to provide accommodation for those of our Service Users who are ready to move towards more independent living, but who still need support and guidance to help them sustain their lives. In addition, some of our referrals have specific needs which mean they are not best suited to shared housing. We are really grateful to our landlord for facilitating our use of this property. These new units, which are fully self-contained with separate kitchen, bathroom and bed-sitting room are ideal for both of these groups and we already have a number of Service Users waiting to take a first step towards sustainable independent living but under the watchful and caring eye of our staff team’.
This house brings to twenty-six the number of otherwise homeless and vulnerable young adults who can now benefit from safe, homely, and supported accommodation.
