Anglican Churches in the Parish of Chandler’s Ford have recently made a generous donation of a gift for each member of staff at Fledge, in recognition of their efforts supporting otherwise vulnerable and homeless young adults in the Borough of Eastleigh.
Members of the congregations at St Boniface and St Martin in the Wood Churches in the town contributed to a range of toiletry items to thank staff at the Eastleigh-based Christian charity for their efforts and hard work, particularly under the restrictions imposed as a result of the current Coronavirus pandemic. Commenting on the gifts, Fledge Manager, Nerissa Dean said: ‘It has been a challenging few months for our staff team who have worked incredibly hard to find new and innovative ways to provide safe socially-distanced support to our service users. Many of our residents struggle with mental health and emotional issues in normal circumstances, but these have often been worsened by the effects of the pandemic. To have local churches feel they want to recognise and support our work and our staff in this way is so affirming and encouraging for our brilliant team, and it has provided everyone with a real lift. We are so grateful to The Parish of Chandler’s Ford for their kindness.’
